Ivan Ariel Canizal

Ivan Ariel Canizal Garduño, better known as Ariel Canizal. Was born in Mexico City where he actually lives. He is 34 years old and is a telecommunications engineer with a degree in design and visual communication. He has worked as a photography teacher for 10 years at UNAM – ENP. Since childhood he has been raised in the Christian-Baptist faith, attending church and working in it. He currently attends and is a member of Shalom Baptist Church of Mexico City. Throughout his years he has supported several areas of church's ministries. Ivan was teacher of the Children's Church and the Summer Bible School; sound coordinator of the temple; participant of the social assistance and pantry distribution team and have supported the organization of the young adults and youth camps. Ivan is currently part of the worship team through playing the clarinet and saxophone.

As a person, he considers himself a humanist, lives in the feeling and thinking that all people are worth the same in God's eyes and deserve to be loved, just as God loves him. As a diverse person from the LGBTQI+ community, he supported and was part of the 'Count with Me' team, an association that provides psychological support to LGBTQI+ people and family members. He is also a counselor against gender violence at UNAM, in the university's gender equity program.
