Remember the Titans

About:

Title: Remember the Titans
Director: Boaz Yakin
Ages: Families, schools.

Summary:

The true story of a newly appointed African-American coach and his high school team on their first season as a racially integrated unit.

What our Vetting Team has to say:

“The way he immediately integrates defense and offense to start getting the team working together and respecting each other. I like that he doesn't make the threat to his job his team's problem. I appreciate the different layers of integration happening, moving into a white neighborhood, the coaches working together, the young girls, the community. The perspective taking between coaches when the brick is thrown. It's very clear this isn't the first time this has happened to their family. The fun they have in their pre-game song. The team captain standing up for his QB. The assistant coach using his agency to help the coach keep his job. Garry's perseverance to keep playing in some form after his accident. The town's support of his mom and him in his absence, showing unity”.
